Robin Hood (12A)
7.30pm: 131 mins
This latest version of our great legend is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett as Maid Marion and Eileen Atkins and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Forget all previous versions of Robin Hood. This is a thrilling and often violent action film, with amazing CGI effects. It begins with Robin as an umeployed mercenary returning from the Third Crusade. He finds himself fending off a French invasion, and this story ends where most other versions begin.
Breathtaking and fast moving. Your history teacher may not like it, but this scores a bullseye for solid entertainment.

She finds out that for years, lovelorn women have posted letters to Juliet asking for advice on matters of the heart. She finds a 50 year old letter written by an English girl about a Tuscan boy she loved and lost, and decides to contact the writer: Claire (Vanessa Redgrave). Claire, her grandson Charlie (Chrisopher Egan) and Sophie set off in search of the long-lost Lorenzo (Franco Nero) and the stage is set for a wonderful, beautifully performed double love story.
